We are delighted to share the recently published report by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) following their inspection of Port Regis earlier this term. This was a rigorous inspection conducted over four days, focusing on the compliance of the school as well as its educational quality.
The educational quality inspection reports on the quality of the school’s work. It focuses on two key outcomes:
• The achievement of the pupils, including their academic development
• The personal development of the pupils
The headline judgements apply one of the ISI descriptors: ‘excellent’, ‘good’, ‘sound’ or ‘unsatisfactory’.
We are thrilled to report that the inspectors consider the quality of pupils’ academic and other achievements as ‘Excellent’. They also deem the quality of the pupils’ personal development as ‘Excellent’. That makes a full house of top grades for Port Regis and we take immense pride in these judgements, as ‘excellence’ across the board is hard to come by.

‘Pupils’ self-esteem, self-confidence and self-discipline are excellent and well developed.’
‘Difference and diversity are positively embraced by pupils; this is a significant strength of the inclusive culture of the school, which leaders have successfully promoted by ensuring that these issues are prioritised in the curriculum. Pupils described their school as diverse and international in character, explaining strongly that they were part of a welcoming and tolerant community.’
‘Pupils have a well-developed sense of spirituality, supported by whole school initiatives and individual opportunities for reflection and selflessness … Pupils share a discerning facility to value and appreciate the non-material aspects of life and display strong development of their religious and philosophical responses to the world around them.’
A ringing endorsement of, and huge congratulations to, the entire Port Regis team!
